Audi is bucking the trend among luxury automakers who are churning out hardtop convertibles, as the new A5/S5 cabriolets that will reach these shores in October will be the old-fashioned, soft-top design. While other manufacturers such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and Volvo, among others, offer folding hard-tops, Audi says the compromise necessary to make room for the top and all its mechanical apparatus makes a soft-top the right choice for a small to mid-size convertible. The soft top is well insulated; even during a steady rain during our first drive of the car, the cabin was relatively quiet.
The ever-expanding range of officially licensed reproduction car bodies has grown to include everything from the 1967 Camaro to the 1940 Ford Coupe that debuted at SEMA. Now, vintage sport utility vehicle enthusiasts can get in on the fun as well. New Citroen DS5 Cinemagraph
The new Citroen DS5 is rapidly heading towards a showroom near you after its production-ready debut at Frankfurt in December (and its first UK viewing at the Top Gear Live shows this month). So Citroen UK has decided they need to push the marketing on a bit in the run-up to the DS5 actually arriving in the UK and have had a set of ’Cinemagraphs’ created of the new DS5.
